Marleen in late 1950's myodiscs with a circular
bowl ("Kreislenti"). Alternative solutions were
not invented until the late 1960's. The difference
in dioptric strength between the lenses could mean
that one lens was for distance and the other lens
for reading. There were no bifocal myodiscs in
those days
