Gita 256

Another fine picture of Gita in hat and late
1950's myodiscs.
In my childhood days, contact lenses were
not widely available. As a result, girls and
women in myodiscs like these were all but
rare in the streets of Amsterdam. As a child,
I was fascinated by the phenomenon, but I did
not dare to take a close or long look, for fear
of embarassing the ladies.
The phenomenon is now almost extinct and
portraits like these could be regarded by critics
as "museum pieces". All I can say is thank you,
Gita, for bringing back the memory!
