These Elcé glasses looked brand new when I got
them. They may have been used as backup by a
lady who favoured contact lenses, but changes in
eyeware fashion may have played a role as well.
In Holland, there was an abrupt change in the late
1980's. All the big frames disappeared from the
opticians shops and retro frames took over
