Caroline kindly agreed to be portrayed under a variety
of angles and the Lentilux glasses keep changing their
aspect. Here the transition zone between bowl and
carrier lens starts to appear, becoming more prominent
in the next portraits.

Caroline 146

Another fine portrait of Caroline in Lentilux glasses by
Nigura. Seen from this angle, the glasses hide much of
their extreme dioptric strength. The image jump can be
seen next to the model's left cheek, but it's less prominent
than in the preceding photo. This made Lentilux an
attractive alternative for traditional myodiscs.

Caroline 145

Two more characteristics of Lentilux glasses are shown
here by Caroline. The abrupt image jump next to the right
cheek is caused by the gradual transition from bowl to
carrier lens. A huge "cut in" effect can be seen next to the
model's right eye. The "half moon" seen in the previous
portrait has changed into a square gap, splitting the image
of the dark hair in two. Note the effect of the positive
carrier lens next to the model's left eye.

Another great portrait of Caroline in modern
glasses Rx -15, supplied by "SGS" Gitaguigongzi
from China. These are no myodiscs and the lens
thickness at the rims is only eight millimeters.
