This is the eyeware I saw when Nel arrived for our first
acquaintance. I was under the impression that she was
wearing a different pair of glasses. After an hour she
disappeared for a minute "to powder her nose" and she
returned in the glasses from the photo that had touched
me so deeply. The subtle gesture was much appreciated!
I know a thing or two about glasses and maybe I was
blinded for other reasons, assuming that Nel had many
glasses as well. It took me a couple of weeks to find out
that they were in fact the same pair all the time, with
different clips every time we met :)
A primitive system with clips was used in the1960's
and the big silver Christian Dior glasses in my collection
(see Rachel photo shoot) may have been an early example
