Nanda 069

Shortly after my marriage with the art student
broke up in the late 1980's, I came across this
pair of Piave glasses at the Amsterdam flea market
and recognized them straightaway. The colour of
the frame is different and the lenses are a gentle
minus two, whereas my ex-wife had minus six.
Here, Nanda bowes her head at my request, to
show that the big frames of the 1970's were quite
photogenic from all angles. Their disadvantage was
that the more refined frames like this Piave tended
to be quite unstable, especially when equipped with
higher prescriptions. My art student switched to a
beautiful green Dior in 1976!
