Nel 236

This is one of my favourite portraits of Nel by
the lakeside in the farming community where she
was born. The portrait came handy during an
interview on national radio about my exhibition
(NCRV, Cappuccino, October 1st). Presentator
Frank du Mosch saw the invitation card for the
opening of the exhibition and he commented that
both Carla and Lettie looked quite severe in their
myodiscs. He then said, I hope that neither of them
is your wife or girlfriend, I did not mean to insult
you or your wife.... I then showed him this portrait
of Nel and although Frank thought the glasses were
made in the 1930's, he appreciated the portrait
