Nanda 101

Nanda in "Quadrette" Neostyle glasses with a lot
of glare in the lenses. This frame first caught my
attention in a 1972 or 1973 advertisement meant
to encourage women to buy new big frames to
replace their 1960's glasses. An early Silhouette
from the same advertisement was shown by Nanda
earlier in her photo shoot. The old frames that needed
replacement were in the same advertisement, but
the examples (even cat eye glasses) were long gone
from the streets. Advertising then, just like now, is
all about exaggeration to make a point :).
I came across these Neostyle glasses at the famous
"Waterlooplein" flea market in Amsterdam during
the 1980's. They are also featured in my photo shoots
with Brigitta, Astrid and Lettie
