These are cataract glasses of the modern type,
with a transition zone between the corrective
bowl and the carrier lens. In German this type
of lens is called Lentilux, both in cataract glasses
and glasses for extreme myopia.
The challenge for the photographer is to find an
angle under which the image of both eyes is
pointing in the same direction. This portrait
of Hiska comes close to the target!
