Astrid 182
Another lovely portrait of Astrid in hat and Flair
lenticular glasses, Rx -14. A striking feature of
lenticular glasses is the difference between their
effect on both eyes. The lens in front of the left eye
shows no power rings, but the gradual transition
zone between carrier lens and corrective bowl plays
its tricks with the model's make up. The strong
correction can be recognized in the lens in front of
the model's right eye. The carrier lens is producing
the image of Astrid's hair. The transition zone between
bowl and carrier lens divides the image of the hair,
producing an effect not unlike the "bite" seen in high
index glasses. The effect is quite surprising and can
only be seen in lenticular glasses.
